  Self Ligating Braces is not your usual type of braces. The brackets don’t necessarily need the small bands to hold the wire in place. It is usually referred to as “speed braces”. The manufacturers said that instead of using ligatures, the brackets are the ones who control the arch wire in its proper place.

  We already have several companies that produce self-ligating brackets and one of the most popular brands in the market is the Damon bracket, which was created by Dr. Dwight Damon. The latest version they released is the Damon3, which is made up of stainless steel and clear material. Other companies include SmartClips and In-Ovation.
